Who I am ? ENGLISH
the rust and color artist
Originally from Corsica, I was an amateur painter for a long time. Being self-taught, I never took drawing lessons.
I never imagined that one day it would become my main activity.
I've always been passionate about horses (I currently own 4 thoroughbred Arabians), and I started painting when I was very young, transcribing the gaits and beauty of my favorite animal.
I improved my technique through drawings and then paintings.
For many years, horses were my one and only subject (portraits, looks, bodies), and I sought out their emotion and aesthetics.
After this long "equine" period, I was inspired by many other subjects, particularly when I returned from my travels.
The few beautiful canvases of Venice in winter have more recently given way to female nudes, animals, and even hyper-colored naive canvases dedicated to decorating children's bedrooms.
From portraits of felines to monkeys, it's always the emotion of the gaze that I'm after.
And so it was that, thanks to an unlikely encounter, I had the opportunity to hold some fine exhibitions in Paris (in Jean Marais' former studio) and in the Paris region.
It was then that I realized that my work was appreciated.
From small colored canvases to large formats, I like to mix color with matter, with a preference for rust, which is systematically found on the outlines of my works.
My figurative paintings are aesthetically pleasing, playing with vivid or blended colors in which the background material, such as aged walls, is as important as the form of the subject itself.
